Golf Performance Support

Welcome to Dr. John Hellström’s website. The competition is extreme in today’s elite golf. The hours invested in training needs to be effective. I support players, coaches, technical instructors, physiotherapists, athletic trainers, and mental coaches by performing advanced measurements and analyses of golfers capacities. I am filtering the newest golf related research, performing investigations, and developing new tools for improving dedicated golfers. Work on the right things by letting sport science help you.

The Five Steps of the Loop™

Use the same proven success formula as Olympic medalists and World Champions in other sports. A systematic and smart approach helps us learn from facts and experiences. A holistic perspective helps us to consider the many areas that influence performance. The systematic approach to using the loop helps us learn from facts and experiences, and our holistic perspective helps us to consider the many areas that influence performance. Work systematically with fire steps of the Loop:

1. Analyze and Set Goals

In step 1, you compare data and read profiles. See how golf statistics, technique, fitness and mental parameters relate. Investigate what makes you a better golfer. Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses (gap and needs profile) and set appropriate goals.

2. Plan toward the Goals

In step 2, you make short, medium and long-term training plans to reach your goals. The system lets you save exercise templates that you can re-use and adjust, so you work faster after each loop.

3. Execute the Plan

In step 3 and 4, you input information such as actual training performed, game statistics, fitness test results, mental evaluations and other variables that are required to give and receive feedback. This makes it possible to monitor the results, and later learn what training that will give certain results - evidence based training!

4. Monitor the Results

In step 3 and 4, you input information such as actual training performed, game statistics, fitness test results, mental evaluations and other variables that are required to give and receive feedback. This makes it possible to monitor the results, and later learn what training that will give certain results - evidence based training!

5. Evaluate and Reconnect

In step 5, you evaluate the steps in the loop to learn from experience. You reconnect and adjust the steps, in a continuing loop. This will make you learn from experience and to optimize the Loop to your personal needs.
